Mise en Scene
Mise en scene is a French term, used to give an impression of a certain situation in the scene. It doesn't usually represent a realistic scene, but still incorporates parts of everyday life. It uses lighting, props, camera angles, and most importantly, different characters, to create this situation in a scene. It gives off certain feelings about the situation to the audience (e.g. awkward, joy, scared). This is usually used in films to create empathy with the characters.
